The Marriott Rewards Premier Visa from Chase is out with a big offer for 100,000 points that can help you earn free nights fast for your next vacation. Here are the details: Earn 100,000 Points after spending $5,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening. Plus, earn 7,500 bonus points when you add the first authorized user and make a purchase in the first 3 months from account opening.
There’s an $85 annual fee that’s not waived the first year, so you’ll see it on your first statement.
This is the highest public offer we’ve seen for the Chase Marriott Premier card (see our review), with the prior high at 80,000 points. There has been a 150,000 point offer floating around, but it requires a massive $30,000 in spending to get the full 150,000 points.
So if you’ve been on the fence about getting this card, this is the time to apply.
Just be aware if you got a bonus for this card within the last 24 months you won’t be eligible to get this one, and if you’ve opened 5 or more credit cards of any kind in the last 24 months you might not be approved.
The card also offers:
Marriott points can be used at thousands of hotels worldwide, including these brands:
Marriott charges for rewards based on the category of a hotel. There are 9 categories (here’s a directory of hotels) ranging from 7,500 points a night to 45,000 points a night. Ritz Carlton hotels are on a different scale, and range from 30,000 – 70,000 points a night.
And when you book a reward for 5 nights, you’ll only get charged for 4 nights, making your points stretch even further.

You can use Marriott points any time of year, there are no blackout dates, but ‘standard’ rooms need to be available in order to use your points, so on some very busy days you might not find awards available.
You can also convert Marriott points to airline miles, though they get diluted in the process. Converting them to Southwest points used to be a popular way to earn Companion Pass status, but hotel points no longer count toward Companion Pass status as of March 31, 2017.
Marriott points can also be converted into Starwood points anytime, but the exchange rate is 1 Starwood point for every 3 Marriott points, so 100k Marriott points gets you 33k Starwood points.
After you’ve finished the spending, and added an authorized user, you could end up with over 110,000 points thanks to this intro offer, which unlocks all kinds of great ways to save on your next trip.
Here are some ways to use your points from the bonus, which can get you $1,000 or more in hotel value if you use it well.
Category 5 hotels cost 25,000 points a night, but thanks to Marriott’s 5th night free on all awards, you can get 5 full nights for the price of 4. That saves you over $1,000 on a stay.
On PointSaver dates, you can get Category 5 hotels for 20,000 points a night, and with the 5th night free, you have enough for 6 nights, saving you over $1,200.
You’ll get an overisized room with a kitchenette, located along the water in Doral.
During peak summer weekends hotel prices can skyrocket near Disneyland, and you can save around $1,500 on some weekends using your points for a 3 night stay.
Your points don’t go quite as far in Hawaii, but you’ll have enough for 3 nights on the beach of the Big Island, saving almost $700.
Rooms go for over $300 a night during the peak winter season, so your points can save you over $1,200.
Don’t go out of your way to get this deal if you are unsure about whether you want to stay at Marriott affiliated hotels. But if they are in your plans, and you see good bargains in the hotel listings, this is a great way to stockpile points fast.
