If you’re trying to use Hilton points in New York City, there aren’t a lot of great redemption opportunities that will get you outsized value for your points.
We value our Hilton points at about 0.5 cents each under the current Hilton programs. That may change as Hilton rolls out new point prices later this month, but if you want to lock in a price you like, book now, since you can always cancel later and get your points back.
Nevertheless, in this post we will look at the best Hilton Honors hotels in New York City to use your points at. We have found the best luxury hotel, as well as more moderately priced hotels by location: Times Square, Midtown, and Lower Manhattan.
We have checked cash and points prices for the hotels listed before for a variety of low- and high-season dates to determine if the hotel gives good value for points overall. Since the value range we mention will only be for the dates that we searched, you should always check the value you will get for your points on the specific dates you are looking to stay at the hotel and decide to use cash or points accordingly.
Some of the redemptions we mention before do not meet our 0.5 cents per point criteria, but were still the best redemption within the category. If you have an excess of Hilton points it may be worth considering one of these redemptions, but as a general rule we would recommend saving your points for a more valuable redemption.
You may value your points differently than we do so consider your own valuations before you decide to book.
The Conrad New York is a great luxury hotel if you don’t want to be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple. The hotel gets consistently great reviews and is within walking distance of several sites including the 9/11 memorial and several subway stations.
The hotels costs between 70,000 and 80,000 Hilton points per night (47,000 and 80,000 under the new Honors prices as of late February).
Point values at the Conrad New York ranged from 0.31 to 0.62 cents per point on the dates we checked. The high end of this range was the highest value we saw for Hilton points in New York City on any of the dates we checked.
If you want to stay in Lower Manhattan but save a few points over booking the Conrad, the DoubleTree by Hilton Financial District is a great option. Again, within walking distance of several sites as well as subway stations, this hotel presents a great option to explore the city.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Financial District costs between 50,000 and 70,000 Hilton points per night (24,000 – 70,000 points under the new Honors prices as of late February).
Point values at the hotel ranged from 0.20 to 0.47 cents per point. On all of the dates we checked, point values were lower than what we would like to see for a points redemption, but if you have a lot of Hilton points or value your points differently than we do, this could still be a redemption worth making.
Midtown is a great base to travel around the city from, and if you want to avoid the craziness of Times Square, the Hampton Inn 35th St./Empire State Building is a decent option.
The Hampton Inn 35th St./Empire State Building costs between 60,000 and 70,000 Hilton points per night (40,000 – 70,000 points under the new Honors prices as of late February).
On the dates we checked, point values ranged from 0.23 to 0.42 cents per point. Again, this entire range is lower than we would ideally like to make a redemption for, but this hotel was still showed the best values in Midtown Manhattan.
If you want to stay right in the heart of the action of New York City, Times Square might be the place for you. The Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square Central is right near Times Square and offers reasonable value for your points.
The Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square Central costs between 60,000 and 70,000 Hilton points per night (42,000 – 70,000 under the new Honors prices as of late February).
Point values at this hotel were the second best we saw at any New York City Hilton hotel on the dates we checked. Values ranged between 0.22 cents per point and 0.54 cents per point. Make sure you check the value you will get from your points for the dates you are looking to stay.
