[Award space] United Saver Business to Europe this summer for 4+ per flight

by on Thu January 12, 2017 • No Comment

If you’re trying to get to Europe this summer in Business Class at Saver award prices, and want to bring along your family, space has been dwindling lately if you’re hoping to use United MileagePlus miles.

And there are a lot more people with 100,000 or more points seeking out these awards lately thanks to the Chase Sapphire Reserve bonus.

But if you can book now there are a few pockets left with 4 or more seats per flight during July and August…

Here’s Chicago to Rome for 57,500 miles one way….

And Newark to Amsterdam for 57,500 miles in July

For more miles (70,000) there’s lot of partner space on Swiss from Newark to Zurich

Other programs to book these flights, which have easy connection from many United destinations:

  • Aeroplan via Amex Membership Rewards: 55,000 miles one way (for both the United and Swiss options, and no surcharges on either)
  • Singapore Krisflyer via Citi ThankYou, Ultimate Rewards, or Membership Rewards: 65,000 miles one way

American AAdvantage has essentially dried up all its summer Business Class award space to Europe over the last couple of years, and with the former #2 in charge at American Airlines now in the same position at United, those tactics might be making their way to MileagePlus, so act while you can.
