United Airlines now Chase Sapphire Preferred / Ultimate Rewards transfer partner

United Airlines Chase Sapphire mile transferSavvy users of the Chase Sapphire Preferred card have been able to transfer their points into United Airlines miles by transferring to Continental Airlines first, then using the merger tool on Continental.com to transfer them to United.

Well, now there’s no need to take the extra step. You can now transfer the Chase Ultimate Rewards points from your Sapphire Preferred directly  into United Mileage Plus miles 1:1, instantly.

That’s great news and confirms you’ll have one of the best mileage programs as a transfer partner for a long time to come. Chase is the exclusive credit card partner of United Airlines. Your United miles are also good for travel on all Star Alliance partners, including Continental, US Airways, Lufthansa, Swiss, ANA, TAM, British Midland, Austrian, Singapore, Asiana, Thai, Turkish Airlines, and more.

If you are a business owner, the Ink Bold from Chase also qualifies for Ultimate Rewards mile transfer to United.

What about travel insurance? A CS Rep told me that death, illness of myself, my wife or other immediate family member is NOT covered by their travel insurance in the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. What’s the deal here?

@Jonathan – For covering the cost of canceling transportation tickets there is a standard benefit for the death of close family or yourself. Would recommend speaking to another Chase rep.
