Singapore Airlines / Starwood mile transfer now 1:1

by on Mon July 11, 2011 • No Comment

Singapore AirlinesThe Starwood Preferred Guest program is one of our favorites — it combines high value, easy to redeem hotel rewards with the ability to transfer miles 1:1 into the mile programs of over 25 airlines.

One notable exception was Singapore Airlines, which transferred at an unfavorable rate of 2 Starwood points required for 1 Singapore mile.

That’s changed as of July, and the conversion rate is now 1:1. And as always, the favorable Starwood bonus on mile transfers applies — for ever 20,000 points you transfer into airline miles, Starwood will add a bonus of 5,000 miles to the transfer.

Singapore Airlines is a member of the Star Alliance that includes United, Continental, Lufthansa, US Airways, and more. It is one of the world’s most renowned premium carriers with extensive global service and many gateways to Asia.

Snagging a reward with them isn’t easy, but its service is acclaimed as one of the best in the world, with a business class seat that rivals the first class seat of many global carriers.
