PointBreaks let you book a selection of IHG hotels for 5,000 points a night for stays over a 3 month window.
The list for hotels bookable for stays until April 30 got previewed last week and the juiciest deals included the Candlewood in Anaheim, near Disneyland, and the Hotel Indigo in Krakow – Old Town. They’re long gone, but keep an eye on availability over the next couple of months, as people change plans and cancel out reservations when they find out flights or other things get in the way.
Most of the other hotels are in places you wouldn’t visit unless you have family or business nearby, but there are a few others that are good vacation deals, with some availability left, like these…
A quick ride over from Vienna, Bratislava gives you a quick taste of Eastern Europe, and it’s a great one night addon to a Vienna visit.
Rates are over $150 a night, so you’re getting over 3 cents per point in value, an outstanding deal for a business class quality hotel.
The Dominican Republic is all about beach resorts. But if you have oddly timed flights, or really want to soak in Dominican culture, the InterContinental in the center of Santo Domingo is a brand new, upscale property that makes for a great day, thanks to an infinity pool with cabanas overlooking the city.
There aren’t many dates left – you’re basically down to last minute trip next week or one night on April 30, but it’s a steal compared to the $250 a night rates.
If you live near NYC or Philadelphia and are up for some tame midweek skiing, this Staybridge is 20 minutes from Poconos ski resorts. You’ll also want to stalk this one ahead of weekends through April 30, in case people cancel out their PointBreaks reservations, since cancellations are free until the day before arrival.
