American Airlines’ website doesn’t display Japan Airlines awards, so until now searching for award space required logging into sites like BA.com with a username and password, which is a hassle.
But Alaska Airlines is now a partner with Japan Airlines and you can search and book Japan Airlines award space directly on the AlaskaAir.com website with no login required.
Just go to the Alaska home page, click ‘use miles’ and do your search for a route that Japan Airlines flies like Los Angeles to Tokyo…
And you’ll see results instantly.
Japan Airlines flights available for booking via the Alaska website are available for booking with other partner programs like American AAdvantage and Asia Miles, so if you see space on the Alaska website, you’ve found a good option.
You’ll have to call your mileage program to make the booking, but this makes it a lot easier to hone in on the dates that have space. And the Alaska site is a lot more snappy and smart about searching across dates than the slow as molasses BA.com site.
If you’re using Alaska miles, you’ll be glad to see it’s offering good prices, with Business Class just 120,000 – 130,000 miles roundtrip and First Class just 140,000 – 150,000 roundtrip, a great deal that almost matches Alaska’s great prices on Cathay Pacific flights to Asia.
